Change your Perception - Change your Reality

Updated: Mar 24, 2021

In a world of great insecurity we cannot change our circumstances; but we can change the way we respond to the world out there. We can allow our circumstances to diminish us, depress us or develop us. It is your choice.

If you are committed to seeing change in your life-read on....

What do you have to believe about yourself, if you want to achieve your goals in life? Do you believe you are worthy of the things you desire in your life? Do you feel that you deserve to have an awesome life? If not; you have programs running in your mind running on auto-pilot that are telling you that you are not enough. Those programs need to be re-wired in your brain so that you can have a default program running 24/7 that is empowering you to reach your goals with least amount of effort.

There is value in progress instead of perfection. Little increments of change every day, every week with the right mindset and the right habits will propel you towards the life you desire to have. Even when you move backwards there is value in the progress of what you have learned from your mistakes. There is no such thing as failure-it is merely feedback on how to do it differently next time. From every negative thing that happens there is always the flip side of the coin-the positive learning you can glean from it to give you the wisdom on how to do it another way next time. ‘Failure’ is merely an opportunity to learn; and one needs to disassociate you from being a failure from failing.

When we start moving away from our old patterns of thinking that hold us back or sabotage us; we have to have commitment and consistency as the old patterns are stubborn as they have been programmed into our brain for so many years that they fight for their life to stay in control of your life. You need to use repetition and consistency and emotionalise to rewire these programs and to install the ones that will empower you to get the results you want.

This is reliant on circuits in the brain and neuro-chemicals that get released and cause changes in our body. Emotions are pivotal in this process as they cause the brain to release feel-good hormones into the body such as dopamine and serotonin which creates a feeling of euphoria and it actually activates the motivational centre of the brain. When we however feel fear emotions the opposite is true and we release stress hormones like adrenaline, cortisol and epinephrin into the body which harm us.

We need to look at your story-what is your story? What beliefs do you have that support your story? What beliefs would you have to have to change your story?

We all have a map of our world and that influences how we react to our outer environment. To change our limiting beliefs about yourself and our interaction with the world, we need to reset our ‘set-points’ of perception. We need to work from the inside out. Our inner world creates our outer world.

Self-talk is also important to examine. When you start to examine your inner talk and become aware of the negative self talk that is producing a negative mindset and negative outcomes; you begin to step outside of your program and you now have the energy and the power to change the negative to positive self talk. Fear is a go-to not a stop emotion. Emotions are caused by thoughts that trigger the neuro-chemical part of the brain, and make us feel a certain feeling.

How does one de-activate the stress-centre of the brain? By calming the neurological circuits of the brain down...take 6 deep breaths in through your nostrils and out your mouth concentrating on your breath (the life-force). This will immediately distress your sympathetic nervous system and you then take one small action towards your goal for that day.

Learn to manage your emotions as they drive your behaviour more than anything else-we move away from pain to pleasure, but pain wires in the brain faster than pleasure(from our inherent survival mechanism). The biggest gift we have been given as humans, is awareness as awareness gives you choice and choice gives you freedom and the power to create the life you want.

We need to break the old self with its repetitive behaviour and patterns as we perpetuate what we don’t want (the past). 90% of our thoughts are the same thoughts as the day before-we have between 60 and 80 000 thoughts a we only have 10% of our thoughts in our conscious mind to re-focus on new possibilities of how we want our future to look like. This takes a great consciousness, mindfulness and repetition.

By accessing our subconscious mind we can unwire disempowering beliefs and we can then rewire empowering beliefs and habits that will transform your life. We do this in the Transformation Life Coaching Program.
