Intuition
The power of tuning in to your Intuition
Your intuition is that still, powerful voice that guides you. I am sure you have felt it many times in your life. It is the voice that guides you when you need to make a decision or when it tells you something is not right. Intuition can be described as: The whispers of your soul and the feeling in your gut. It is your wisdom and your internal compass, and your best friend. But the question begs; do we listen to it enough? Do we trust its voice? Do we adhere to its guidance and insight or do we block it out with our business, our rational thinking and the distractions of the day?
Your intuition is what connects you to the collective universal field-the divine intelligence. It is a form of communication between your spirit and your soul-it is how you connect with your dreams and your purpose. It connects you with the energy of the quantum field (the invisible realm around you and everything on this planet). If you are not living the life of your dreams, then maybe it’s time to practice tuning in to your intuitive voice more often so that it can empower you in making your dreams a reality.
Steve Jobs (the greatest entrepreneur of our time) stated in his Stanford address:
‘Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma-which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know that you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.’
Here is a powerful technique/tool on how to listen to your intuitive voice by Sonia Choquette (an expert on intuition):
>Bring yourself into total present awareness by placing your attention on one thing, then another, then another (one at a time)-3 things
>Now breathe in very slowly, without raising your shoulders, put your tongue on the roof of your mouth and exhale like you are blowing out candles-releasing all the energy you’re holding in your body. Exhale loud.
> Lastly you breathe in without lifting your shoulders and when you exhale you imagine you are going down a slide and you breathe out with an AHA sound. Notice where your body and your awareness has shifted as you’ve gone down the slide and listen to the instant quiet. Now you are in your intuitive voice in theta brain waves (this is the most reflective and intuitive place there is)
>Now, think of a question of which you want intuitive guidance on.
Then say: ‘My heart says....’ and complete the statement from this powerful intuitive voice. Here is your guidance. When you breathe in this intentional way, you are clearing the mind from your inner clutter and you are creating space to hear. When you visualise going down a slide you shift your awareness from the inner tug of war in your head, to the receptor.
>You ask 10 different questions in this way and your intuitive place will give you the guidance you need.
Remember before you do this technique to come into a state of full present awareness by focusing on 3 objects with concentration. Then do the breathing. Use this tool when you need guidance on any decision or action you are contemplating and need reassurance that you are doing the right thing for your intrinsic self.
>Activity: Write down 10 questions you would like answered on important issues you need intuitive guidance on and then do the breathing technique.
Some advantages of tuning in to your intuition:
>It helps you make better decisions in your life-in your relationships, your career, your life vision.
>It connects you to the creator of everything. It connects you to the truest and highest version of yourself-it motivates you intrinsically to be more and do more for the benefit of all humanity (it is the opposite of ego)
> It empowers you with wisdom; it gives you an edge in business (it contains the intelligence of all mankind and it filters in what you need to fulfil your life’s purpose)
>It makes you sensitive to unspoken signals in your relationships and deepens your understanding of people and situations with wisdom and empathy. It connects you to everyone and everything in the world
>It opens up new energy fields of creativity and gives you a deeper meaning in life
>It protects you, supports your true purpose and inspires you to pursue your dreams
>It makes you life more fulfilling
The 5 types of Intuition:
1. Warning System- the inner small voice will warn you of imminent danger-it always protects you
2. Connectedness-it connects you to the divine source of intelligence and it gives you access to its power and creativity
3. Inspiration-this happens when you get ideas from the supernatural intelligence of creative power
4. Support-this small voice is there to support your intrinsic self and to move you towards your soul’s purpose.
5. Higher purpose intuition-your intention and your intuition moves you to see and to inspire you to do big things for the greater good
Steve jobs also stated that his success is due to tuning in to his intuitive mind
‘Your mind slows down and you see a tremendous expanse in the moment. You see so much more than you could see before. It’s a discipline-you have to practice it.’
Tuning in to your intuition is like turning off the radio-changing your internal signal, removing all the distracting voices in your head as well as the noisy and over stimulating noise of life around us (including social media distractions and obsessions).
It is practicing getting into an altered state of mind-to calm the conscious mind and to go into theta brain waves which connect one to the quantum field of possibilities. Meditation is one of the best ways to tune in to your intuitive mind, as well as calming breathing techniques, practicing intentional gratitude’s and visualizations of your dreams. Allowing your mind time to ‘Wonder’ and ‘dream’ not only creates new neurological pathways in the brain, but it creates space for you to hear that small and powerful voice of intuition to guide your thoughts, your emotions, your decisions and your actions.
Do you desire to overcome fear, insecurity, anxiety and aloneness? Do you yearn to fulfil that deep longing in your soul and create more meaning in your life? I think we all do, it is part of our intrinsic nature. We need to practice tuning in to that small intuitive voice which, not only gives more peace and purpose but it gives one that sense of reassurance of being connected to something much bigger than ourselves-a benevolent intelligent spirit that is eternal and ever present, ever knowing and ever loving. It is the source of life-it is the very breath of life.
